Looking to beef up your resume or just gain more work experience? If so, it’s important to know that having
completed an internship, or performed some kind of done job volunteering, greatly
enhances your knowledge and skills in a particular field.
By doing an internship, or volunteering to work, you may discover what
you like to do, and just as important, what you don’t like. This also can be beneficial
in a tough job market.
And don’t worry about your age ... often times you don’t need to
be of college age to apply for an internship ... and anyone can volunteer.
Past
reports indicate 79 percent of volunteers say their volunteer activities “helped
them with their interpersonal skills, such as understanding people better,
motivating others, and dealing with difficult situations.” Others confirmed volunteering helped them acquire
better communication skills and a greater wealth of knowledge—both being
essential in the workplace.
To start an internship or volunteer program, here are some TBWA
Tips—
-Finding a paid internship is the best thing to do in the downtime
of the economy. When the economy picks
back up you will have the skill set necessary for that job
-Internships sometimes pay an hourly salary
-Volunteering is free but allows for great exposure to an
occupation allowing you to “try it out” before you delve right in
-Possible job and networking opportunities can result from volunteering
or internship work
-You increase your competitive edge when you have an inside view
of a company. Witnessing the inner
workings can make for opportunities that are not available to outside
applicants.
Remember, hands-on experience is invaluable for any first-time
career venture ... and internships and volunteering allow you to get your feet
wet before making a splash in your career of choice. Click here for

Nowadays it's hard to find a job because of the recession. There are many got unemployed and seeking job now. As a worker, I am also a blood donor to help on my daily needs. I think this is a very big help for the students who are seeking for a part time job now or got unpaid internship and especially it is summer time which are some of us need extra income. I'm donating for 2 years now and it really helps because every donation I make up to $50/hour for blood donation. As we all know, Blood bank shortages kill tons of people all the time and it is the time to spread the word about blood donation and give blood, you will never know when YOU might need blood. This really helpful even it is just a part time job, the bottom line of this is to saved lives.
